A Move into Racking Sales

Alexander James Recruiting was involved with assisting Mark Partington in early 2020 with finding a new role within the racking industry. Mark was in the unfortunate position of having been made redundant due to circumstances out of his control and as a result was keen to find something within his immediate scope. Although Mark's experience was predominantly in Racking Projects it was identified that he could transfer this skills set and understanding into a sales role. The racking industry has undoubtedly been changing along with other warehouse sectors in recent years and one of the things we have found from a recruitment perspective is how businesses are more frequently interested in individuals who are able to understand the overall solution. Mark was naturally a little apprehensive about moving from what he knew and although he had been involved in sales before this was only a small part of his role. Alexander James was able to manage both him and the customer effectively by encouraging patience on both sides. Overtime Mark came round to the move and once 100% was keen to move forward, proving that taking the time to allow him to think everything through whilst having access to our client for any queries was worth doing. Mark commented:
